Intro to Laser Engraving

Using Glowforge Pro

Must take Makerspace 101 first. Provides an orientation for using the BPL Makerspace laser cutting & engraving machines.

NOTE: You must complete Makerspace 101 before taking any other Makerspace courses and before using the Makerspace. Please register for Makerspace 101 on our Events page.

Intro to Laser Engraving provides an orientation for using the BPL Makerspace Glowforge Pro Laser Cutter & Engravers.

In this hands-on class, patrons can:

  • Learn how to use the Glowforge Pro & safety procedures
  • Become familiar with different materials for engraving
  • Prepare & edit designs in Glowforge's software
  • Learn to engrave images, shapes, and text
  • Create a project to take home

All patrons must go through Intro to Laser Engraving before they are permitted to use the Glowforge Pros. Space is limited, so reserve your spot. (Intro to Laser Engraving will be offered regularly. Check our Events page for more information.)

You must have a Bentonville Public Library card or Tech Card to use the Makerspace.

Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

Main Street in Bentonville, Arkansas.
