Each year House Members may honor one high school student from their districts by selecting a piece of artwork for inclusion in an exhibit at the U.S. Capitol.
The Congressional Art Competition began in 1982 to provide an opportunity for members of Congress to encourage and recognize the artistic talents of their young constituents. Since then, over 650,000 high school students have been involved with the nationwide competition.
Bentonville Public Library is proud to be the exhibit and award ceremony location for Congressman Steve Womack's 2026 Congressional Art Competition in the Walmart Foundation Community Room from April 2 through April 8, with an awards ceremony the evening of April 8.
For general information regarding the annual Congressional District Art Competition, please visit the official website for the Congressional Art Competition.
