Rising 7th - 12th graders, take the challenge to write a novel this summer!
Rising 7th - 12th graders are invited to this Creative Writing Camp!
Do you love to create your own worlds and characters? Or have you read a good book and thought you’d like to write your own story? In this eight week program, you will learn all the basics needed to write your own future best seller. Each week will cover a different aspect of creative writing. Topics include creating characters, world building, plot and so much more!
Sessions will take place each Wednesday from June 8 - July 27. You can pick and choose the topics you want to learn about, but for the best overall experience we recommend coming to each session. Sessions will include 1 hour of structured learning (11am - noon), and 1 hour of optional writing time (noon - 1pm)!

Week 1, June 8: Introduction to creative writing*
Week 2, June 15: Elements of plot, creating an outline
Week 3, June 22: Creating well developed characters*
Week 4, June 29: Creating Conflict
Week 5, July 6: Setting and world building*
Week 6, July 13: Subplotting
Week 7, July 20: Defining the Details
Week 8, July 27: Review, revision, and closing party*
*4th - 6th grade and 7th - 12th grade groups will meet together during these sessions.
