A Summer Reading Club Competition....with a twist!

Get ready for the ultimate battle where creative amateur artisans will compete for the championship crown of Bentonville's Best Crafter!  Imagine the show "Chopped" combined with "The Great British Bake Off"....minus the food!  Here is how it will work:

  • The competition will run for five weeks during the summer (we are taking a break from competition Fourth of July week) with varying dates and times to accommodate different schedules
    • Thursday, June 18 @ 5:30 PM
    • Thursday, June 25 @ 10:30 AM
    • Saturday, July 11 @ 1:00 PM
    • Thursday, July 16 @ 10:30 PM
    • Thursday, July 23 @ 5:30 PM
    • Saturday, August 1 @ 1:00 PM - FINALE
  • Eight (8) premium spots open each week to artisans. However, you can only signup for one spot during the entire competition to keep things interesting (and fair)
  • Each artisan will be provided a crate of identical crafting supplies that can be made into the funkiest, most unique craft you can conjure during the slotted time in the Makerspace.  Each competitor can also use basic supplies from the Makerspace such as glue, scissors, hair dryers, etc., but will not know the contents of each crate until the competition begins (because that makes it more fun!)
  • Each week, library patrons will vote for their favorite crafted treasure in front of the Makerspace
  • FINALE - the winner from each week will compete for the championship crown on Saturday, August 1 @ 1:00 PM, so please make sure you can commit the time

Weekly and grand prizes will be available! Adults 18+, please. Let the games begin!
